Why no surveys from the bike manufacturers?

So I live in a world of surveys that my business is rated based on good and bad surveys. I think it is weird that in the past two years I have bought two Treks, one Giant and one Santa Cruz mountain bike and have not got a survey or review from any of the manufacturers. I would think they would want to know about our delivery experiences and at least initial quality of the bikes we have bought.

You'll see more surveys when they're worried about selling.😉
Seriously, surveys are generally BS. They just want to ask questions that really only show their corporate masters how great they are. A good survey is a great way to get the marketing/sales folks a good bonus.

I'd tend to agree that there is value to them when you are trying to grow your business and/or evaluate customer satisfaction or needs, but right now manufacturers are just trying to keep up to the exploding market. That will change once supply stabilizes and more manufacturers enter the game.

I generally don't like surveys but I still think that it is weird that I bought two fairly high end bikes one from Trek and one from Santa Cruz and have had no follow up, by the mfg. The LBS is a friend so he knows if I am happy with the bikes or not. I am happy btw but what does the manufactures use to know about things that should change? Warranty claims I assume. Btw the Santa Cruz was bought the end of 2018 before the current bike shortage/ crisis hit.

They are so far ahead in planning that they really don’t care as long as problems are few. They are stuck with their designs for now and they are much more aware of coming trends/designs that they can really build. Thats why many of the surveys you see are phone help/service oriented. I get lots of surveys from Apple and Toyota but they are almost always phone associate/service related.

Buy a RAD and see if you get a survey. They are VERY actively soliciting opinions on everything, constantly......
