Hello everybody!

I'm looking for any recommendations for a solid e bike manufacturing partner for a bike I have designed.

I know it's a big world out there and hard to trust companies you just find on Alibaba.

If anyone works or worked in the industry and has solid connections with manufacturers, please hit me up!

Thank you!

Oh, this could be interesting. I can't really help you cause I'm a noob ... hardly know which end goes to the road. But if there's anybody around here who can build a bike from the ground up it would be Wattwagons .... I'd guess anyway. He's awful busy though. Maybe he would be willing to look at your design.

There's a contact form near the bottom of their main page. Or you could PM Pushkar under the wattwagon logo on this site. They still design and build titanium bikes here in the country along with their other projects. AFAIK 👍

Thanks, I've checked them out, they seems great but I'm looking for mass production on this project. Thanks for the reply!

I don't know the name of any manufacturers in Asia, but it seems like some companies have moved to Vietnam and Taiwan after the China sanctions from 2019/2020. Perhaps someone else will chime in, but this is also something that companies seem keep secret as a competitive advantage.

Frey sells ebikes in quantity. Container loads. Lots of middle men selling essentially Frey bikes under other names. Frey literally (somewhere) has invited entrepreneurs to work with them.

I have checked them out for sure. I'll reach out to them, thanks.

If you’re coming here for info, it appears you need to do a lot more homework on your own. My first question would be what you are bringing to the table that would fit in with a specific manufacturer?

Ive done my homework. Im bringing to the table an e bike design that no one is doing. Its a 4130 double butted chromoly single geared fun machine.

Yep, thats what I am looking for!

One word of caution before you lose your hard-earned money and time.
Intellectual property theft is rampant. They have absolutely no regard for IP's. They will claim your idea as their own and you will have no way to prove it.
They can copy your design and start producing stuff before you keep the phone down. Once you go through that bitter experience, you will be super wary of doing business without knowing the integrity of the person.

Yep, totally. Thats why I'm looking for a reliable parter or a person who can navigate these waters.

And I'd rather work here in the US!

You might try the US based eBike brands, and I'm not talking the big guns here, that already have a relationship with Asian manufacturers. If your design is sound then one of them might take you on for their 2023 production schedule. Pretty bad time to go from ground 0 and no industry inside contracts due to the overall supply problem industry wide.If you are fortunate enough to find someone to take on your design plan on making about 1/4 as much $$ as you may be thinking if you are lucky. As they say the best way to end up with a million dollars in the bike industry is to start out with 2.

Your option would be to get a prototype made and a slick video and go crowd source. If it goes big then you will have the chops to get it done as it seems like quite a few eBikes are launched via CSF.

So given your comment, my point is who wants (or is looking) to build/sell an ebike that no one else is doing? Who is set up or wants to make a 4130 double butted chromoly single geared ebike? Who is now making chromoly frames? The biggies are already years ahead in product design so is your bike that kind of forward-thinking design? All I’m saying is that (if you are serious) this takes serious research so asking us to give you names seems a bit childish.
Given they presently can’t even deliver their existing product lines, now is a tough time to be bringing a new design that nobody is making to a company. Just sayin.
BTW, I worked many years for a world class research firm whose primary work was metallurgy. They never bought a design from someone like you but they did hire folks (possibly like you) who could do the work and then set them to work on their future product designs. Best of luck!

I'm to lazy to look but I recall 3 different companies selling bmx based ebikes. Full 4130 F/F, no suspension, disc brakes, rear hub. There was also a mid-drive model. There are several US companies that build 4130 frames to specs. Standard, S&M, FBM, Johnny True Torch pop to mind. Build a quality prototype and shoot a promo video and gauge the response in the comments section.
