Whats the voltage on the light output on the perfomace line motors?

Most Bosch Gen2 drive units have the option for 6v or 12v, with selection being made by an IBD using the Bosch Diagnostic Tool. All Gen3 and Gen4 are 12v only.

Current draw is 1500mA continuous/1800mA MAX for Gen2, and 1500mA continuous for Gen3/4. (1100mA front, 400mA rear)

I took a look at the Lupine website via the link you provided. I'm not 100% clear on the specs of their light, and some of the text on the page is a bit confusing/inaccurate when it refers to the Bosch System. It would be good to know the current draw requirements of their lights, but I can't seem to find it on there.

yes it was a bit weird. but the 130 lumens need 12v. I don't know what my bike is set up for but it looks like most of my shops can change it? the light on it is 6/12v so no way to know what its set to. if it was brighter it would be perfect as it has a upper cut off. if it is at 6v then going to 12 may take care of it and give me more lumins
 
Lumens is a measure of visible light, so no exact correlation to electrical measurements. Very odd that they don't publish those other specs. Maybe try emailing them to ask for the info?

The older Gen2 DU's were 6v only, but pretty much all newer ones should be 6v/12v. What model year is your tandem? Any chance you have an old diagnostic report? May show what your current settings are.

its a gen two same as my performance speed. I can take it in but I think I might just stick with the built in light and and get a extra 1300 lumen light like I am using now as supplement. that way I have 3 hours of run time and it only costs me 120.00 https://www.rei.com/product/152988/bontrager-ion-pro-rt-front-bike-light this works well on dark bike paths. but the battery dies pretty quickly nice I have it connected to my gps so it turns on and off and changes light mode automatically.

This chart is perfect- publishing of voltage and wattage specs for each light allows for calculation of current draw. There is a similar one from Light & Motion that I've shared on EBR before, I'll try to track it down.

I'll still recommend a little caution with any 3rd-party spec chart that has a "check box" for compatibility, and advise that Bosch's DU electrical light output specs are the ultimate decision maker.

Example: This chart shows the M99 PRO light as working with Bosch Gen2/3 DUs, but only under the 36v option. To achieve this, you'd have to DIY tap into the Bosch battery cable to get the 36v supply, which can void warranty and potentially cause some other problems. Some OEMs have done this in the past, and it caused some functionality/reliability issues.

I changed the light on my cx gen2 to a supernova m99 mini pro two months ago, I also got my LBS to change from 6V to 12V and it works great. The wide beam pattern is one of the main reasons of getting the Supernova light.

For a bit less expensive light the Busch & Muller IQ X E is nice, and works just fine on 6V. They also have the IQ XM and IQ XL That requires at least 9V, both of those have long beam similar to my Supernova. The IQ XL seams to be a beast with 300 Lux in low beam mode, My Supernova is 150 Lux/450 Lumen on low beam, and 260 Lux/1150 lumen on high beam.
