What to buy?

I'm curious which E-mtb would you buy with a little more fork travel and if it's a little older, from 2018 then newer? I have a few options and I don't know what to do which one to buy!?

Focus Jam2 - 180mm
Specialized Lev0 -150mm
Orbea wild H20 - 160mm
Scott e-genius 710 - 150mm
Yt decoy - 160mm

Maybe you have another suggestion, if so, what would it be?

Tnx

Don't have any advice on what to buy (not a mountain bike fan) but a battery 7 years old is at the extreme end of its lifetime, generally only 5 years. Someone else will comment on brand or types of mountain bikes, I'm sure.

Those look like nice choices. Have a gander at some Giant bikes as well. Maybe a Trance, or Reign.

@fifti you should probably tell us what your price range is. There’s quite a few options for eMTB. From your list, you’ll find tons of experience here with the Specialized and probably Scott models. I’ve seen a few Orbea riders too around EBR. Good luck!

I'm on a Trek Rail 7, 3rd Gen with a Rockshox 160mm of fork travel and length of travel isn't all the story. My Scott mtb has 130mm of Fox fork suspension and is a much. much nicer ride than the Rail despite the increased travel. What I am saying is, don't get too caught up on the length of travel so much as the quality of the fork. I would trade 30mm of travel for a better quality fork any day of the week.

Also consider, a 2018 may have very worn components and if the previous owner rode the bike much, the fork could be about done by then. I have been getting about 5 years out of a fork before it needs to be rebuilt or replaced, and I am not a hard core rider. This is once or twice a week riding maybe 10 miles of moderate single track and no real jumps. If you get it cheap, then maybe worth it though.

At some point, buying an older emtb is not going to be worth the cost unless you can pick one up for a very good price and it is has not been used much. Considering the cost of the battery alone that could be reaching its life in that many years too. I am not trying to discourage you, just trying to prevent you from picking something up and then later realizing you have to drop $2k in it soon after.

Across different manufacturers you're not gonna notice any
practical difference between 150mm or 160mm travel. The
internal mechanics are the more critical factor, plus of course
the price of the shocks.

Of the ones you listed, I'd go with the Orbea. We sell a few every month. They've been very reliable. Our service jobs are from rider error.

Last week, a local guy came in with his fully loaded Amflow. About $16K. Sick. We are working on picking up one or more DJI bike lines. It's tough. Every shop wants them.
