Hey Awesome. My son loves it. Could you list the specs, parts, and cost of something like that? I don't know much about building one, but it is very intriguing to me and I do wonder if it is cost effective. I especially like the flat black. Very Cool!!

Looks awesome! I like the Super Mario reference..... I wasted many a day on that game!
Wasted!! James, the only waste I see here is that Peach is still trapped in that castle and you're wasting your time complaining here instead of rescuing her! Now run Shadowfax, show us the meaning of haste and confront Bowser!

ps. I like the T-Shirt the original poster is wearing "next on the ban list" ah yes... classy ;)

I bought it (Bike & Bionx)off a local buy/sell/trade for $500 w 1440km on it. Its a 37V 2010 Bionx w a 350W hub motor. It has a Gen 2 console w pedal assist and a throttle. I got it for a steal. It does up to 32km/hr assisted or throttle.

Bionx sells kits but they are pricey. The bike has been plasti dipped matted black to give it that look.

The battery has a vinyl wrap on it. I got it done for $75 at a car graphics shop. So far im in about $600CAN for the bike, bionx, plasti dip and custom vinyl graphics.

Pretty happy with it.

Wow you got a great deal. Looks great. I thought about buying something used, but I worried about not knowing the battery's condition at time of purchase and a lack of a warranty. For the money you spent it doesn't really matter!!

Really cool! The battery is most likely already out of warranty, but I'm sure you'll get good use out of it.

I will warn others who might be considering a similar modification to the battery, Bionx will not honor warranties on any batteries that have been modified in anyway, including paint. We recently had this conversation with them when a customer asked us to modify their battery.

Looks great though! Very creative!

That's sad... I'm not sure how to feel about BionX. They seem like a big company that can sometimes drop the ball on support and just be less sensitive than other players :(

Good thing the battery isn't painted then ;) It's a vinyl wrap that you can take off and make the battery oem again if needed. So anyone who wants to do something similar can and will not be voiding their warranty :)

I'm not too concerned about the battery being out of warranty. I do have a 48v that I use as well. Even though this 37v holds a good charge and gets me back and forth from work and then some.

Also to add in, the "paint" I sprayed on my bike is removable. So if anyone just wants to paint their battery or any other part of their bionx setup with that stuff they can. Just make sure you use plasti dip ;)
it peels off like latex and doesnt leave any residue.
Check out dipyourcar's channel on youtube
Here's a video showing them peel it off a car

Thanks DDub420, I just realized it was Plastidip. Popularized by the VW crowd of which I've been a part of for some time now. I deduce from your username you are as well, among other things which some may celebrate this Sunday, I don't but I certainly respect others practice ;)
