Weatherproofing Your Bike During Transport or Storage

Although by design, my e-bike is fairly weatherproof but lately, I've been using these products to provide some additional protection against the elements.

They stretch to fit a variety of shapes and I use them to cover my displays, battery, battery compartment and even my seat.




These silicone stretch covers are fairly durable and reusable. The display buttons can also be operated through the silicone material. They have lasted all season so far but I think the sun's UV rays will cause them to deteriorate over time. They are fairly cheap though and worth the $$.

I normally carry my bikes in the open bed of my pickup. The bike's high stem puts the handlebars above the top of the cab where they get pelted with rain, bugs and other debris. For added protection, I use these waterproof sleeve covers:

The elastic ends keep them in place covering the brake levers, shifter and display.

First rainy season for me moving the bikes. I will have them in the bed of a pickup too.

If rain is an issue, it looks like you have the fix figured out pretty well - thanks for sharing.

I wouldn't trust anything when it comes to keeping my battery dry, not to mention secured. They come off and are stored INSIDE the vehicle. I have had some trouble with displays in the past, so they are either removed (very easy to do on most bikes) or wrapped with a small freezer bag that's secured with a piece of string or a tie wrap. We frequently have to move a bike 1200 miles on our snowbird route that we run every spring and fall. Some of those trips have involved rain the entire time of this ride. The bikes, which ride in an open utility trailer, have always done really well with those 2 precautions. The chains generally get their maintenance done after one of those rainy trips for sure.

I'm a battery inside the car guy. But the way the battery cavity is in my Stance I'd fear for the contacts in the frame. I had ordered a cover for that when I got my bike but it has not arrived.
