Purchased a 2nd hand 2023 Turbo Vado 5.0 for my spouse who has a rotten right shoulder (pending replacement surgery). She is still looking to ride but we were looking for some tips or ideas finding a taller stem, or am I able to swap the handlebars out for a more swept back (Mary Poppins) style. Went to my local Specialized dealer and they advised that they were not able to swap out the stock handlebar? Seemed a bit strange, or is there something particular about the Vado? Thanks for any tips or ideas.

I've got a 2018 Turbo Vado 6.0, and broke two vertebral discs in a ski accident. After surgical replacement of the discs, riding my bike was painful. I wanted to raise my handlebars or tilt them back. My dealer was unable to do either, but offered me the option of swapping out my handlebars for a more swept back model. We installed the
WHISKY Winston Carbon Handlebar, and it's been fantastic. We did have to replace all of the brake cables as the originals were too short to accomodate the new handlebar shape. While it was an expensive modification, it's completely comfortable for me.
