Turbo bottom bracket noise

I have recently been getting rather loud clicking (actually more like popping) noise from the bottom bracket when under load. Anyone have similar experiences? The BB is FSA Megaevo 386.

It may not be the same but had clicking under load last week. It turned out to be one of my pedals, the left pedal was tight and notchy. The noise was always at the same spot on the pedal stroke. This was a Shimano XT platform/SPD combo. I replaced with another pair of pedals and the noise went away.

Yeah, I have had bracket work done once and then the bearing casings were somehow set to place with locktite (blue) to prevent them from moving. After that it was pretty silent, but now it is starting to get pretty noisy. I still have to investigate the pedals but I am pretty sure it is coming from the BB.

Or it's both as I discovered today on the ride home when the left crank came free. Luckily it was just after I'd stopped to check a tire. I had to use a combination of hex tips remount the crank so I could get the last seven miles home. I'd noticed it was creaking a bit again and there was space where there shouldn't be any but I did not recognize the symptoms it until afterwards. Now I'm off to find a 10mm hex to tighten it properly.

I observed that the creaking can be heard on both pedal strokes. So, unless both pedals are bad it is coming from the bb.

I have had a bit of bottom-bracket noise (on pedaling). Seems to only happen under high load (climbing steep hills). Sounds like I should get it checked out.

I am a Long time retired bike mechanic, just getting into the new stuff.... In the old days you had to keep everything tight and lubed. The peddles, crank arms, and bottom bracket cups could all creek or tick if not lubed and cranked down tight. I used to use white lithium grease in my shop in the 80's and 90's, crap, I guess I'm getting old...
