I rode a Trek Police Bike Yesterday. It's Actually just a Powerfly 5 with Class 3 Speed . What a Fun Bike : They weren't sure of the exact weight : It indefinably was a little lighter feeling then the Vado 4 they had.

It was 38 Degrees Outside. So I only went 1.5 miles out and back . 3 Miles Total > It's a Fast Fun Comfortable Lighter weight Bike :

Because it says Police I wasn't allowed to Buy It
. Which seems Stupid to me : All they'd have to do is take off the 1 decal. As I stated it looks just like the POWERFLY 5.

The LBS Guy seemed to believe Trek would have the Non Police version available by Spring > Although He said Trek is weird : They offer different Bikes in Different Countries

Anyone have a Suggestion on How I could get one of these >Or Insight that confirms a Civilian Version by Spring. It really seems way overboard that I have to be a Policeman to own it > Especially since it's not specially Priced ; The decal saying Police can obviously be removed with Solvent . Wouldn't Damage a Thing

I also was disappointed to hear The Specialized E-Bike are still having varied Issues :

Which I have to believe the Guy was being Upfront . Seeing how they are a Trek, Specialized Dealer

Due to wind I was able to get it up to only 26 MPH pretty easily . Dropped off to around 23 MPH from there . Intentionally Dropping all the way to 14 <MPH for the last 1/2 mile or so just because it was COLD!!!!! when going fast ;)

Odd, last I talked to my dealer they ship with the decal not applied. Must have changed... Glock and other LEO suppliers do the same thing with many products intended for police use.

Rick53-
Congrats to you for actually being able to find this elusive E-bike at any of your LBS Trek stores. I searched high and low for this bike when it was available to the general public, went to put one on order, and they then told me "no can do" due to corporate policy changes with the PB! WTH! Walked out of there with a cancelled order and never looked back. It is all nonsense IMO! I asked the same question regarding a civilian version, and I was given different answers from different dealers. Yes, it is like a Powerfly with a speed motor. Caught my attention immediately! I still have the spec sheet from my order and the bike comes in at 50.22 lbs. (22.78kg). If you need any more specs, let me know. If you are more diligent, you may try to find a used one, like another poster did on this forum. Please keep us posted if you decide to pursue the PB! ;)

I have a 2018 Powerfly 5 with tuning and consequently might have a similar eBike except I have the Performance Line CX, which may be better than the Speed motor, but not certain about that. The weight of 50.22 mentioned above is the same as my Powerfly 5.

Bob Here is why you can't find these : Just spoke to Trek : This will be Available in 4 weeks : It will be available with The Allaint 8S 28 MPH Motor or The Motor they are Putting in The PowerFly 5 . SO you can order it either way > Although He did say they were going to concentrate Production on the Class 3 Motor : Little More Upright then The Police Bike

That sounds very encouraging for class 3 motors. Thanks for the heads up Rick! Happy shopping.

What Alerted me to call The Bike in the Posted Picture is on the cover page when you click on Electric Bikes > SO I spoke with them and asked which Bike that was https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes/electric-bikes/c/B507/
BTW- I spoke to Trek corporate and they indicated the only bikes with the speed motors this year are the Allant and the Domane available to the general public. I do not see the SC 8+ on their website anymore which was also a class 3. Not sure if it has been discontinued or not.

I assume it must depend on your country : I should have clarified This is USA Trek : I just looked and See Alliant 8* . Was told the Alliant 7+ available soon : Not sure why they don't offer the same Bikes in all nations : Gets confusing when you are reading Forum Posts :
