Trailer or not

I am short and have a difficult time when I come to a stop. I was considering getting a trailer just him much would this effect my stability?

I see a disaster unfolding if you need to stop on a steep approach to a road crossing for instance. You are no longer stopping and maintaining control of just the bike, you're now adding a trailer and it's contents to that scenario.

So I have to ask, why the difficulty? Is the bike too tall, or hard to get on/off of? Figure that out and fix it, and the trailer shouldn't be that big a deal, or as big a deal anyway.

Welcome to the Forum! You've come to the right place for ebike related help.

A trailer would increase your momentum and have an adverse effect on stability. I would recommend disk brakes if you don't already have them. A dropper seat post or simply lowering the seat would make it easier to maintain balance when stopping. Riding with full leg extension isn't as important with an ebike since the electric assist compensates for loss of pedaling efficiency.

Posting some details about your bike may allow us to offer more help.

I am short and the top cross is hard to straddle and yet I can raise the seat to get the full extension of my legs. I think moving the seat would help with stopping. Would put more weight on the rear end.

Proper seat extension is useless if it makes you too uncomfortable stopping. Safety first!

Maybe try lowering it a bit until you get some confidence in your ability to maintain control. A trailer is going to make matters worse in many situations for sure. Before trying that you should have a good handle on things without it
