torque that schrader valve

Using both schraeder valves (on Schwalbe tubes) and prestas (tubeless and tubes on a variety of brands) plus bicycles dating back to the 1970's, I can say I've never once used anything else but a valve core tool. For prestas I like the kind that fits into the valve cap so I never have to wonder where TF the thing went when I need it.

You just tweak it with two fingers so its snug-tight. Any more than that on a presta and you can break the poor little thing (specifically you'll break that little plastic washer). One nice thing about a removable Presta core is you can use needle-nose pliers in a pinch if you can't find the valve core tool (which is all the time unless I have the stem cap remover thingie). For a schraeder, go to any tire shop and ask to see their torque settings for their valve core torque wrenches. Same valve...
