This is very cool, set your throttle speed and go, no pedaling if you don't want to and lock your speed in.
Front and rear suspension and only $2099 with free shipping

RIZE LIBERTY

CRUISE CONTROL
Trying to enjoy a long ride without having to keep hold of the throttle? This feature enables you to set the cruise of the bike to the desired speed while the throttle is released. Any application of the throttle or brake will exit cruise mode.

In this category of Ebike for the price it is a strong contender, with 4.25 fat tires must be super comfortable to ride, I hope EBR tests one.

Peddling? or pedaling? Cruise control isn't unheard of on e-bikes. Some other Rize bikes have cruise control, however, I asked about this a while back on the Rize forum, and they said it just maintained a constant power, not a constant speed, so if the bike started to descend or climb a small hill, the speed would not be maintained as only the power was being maintained. Pretty bad - imagine if your car's cruise control worked that way.

Edit: Here's where I asked and got a response that it doesn't really maintain speed on the Rize.

Yeah I guess it's only good for those long flat runs.

Where I think it would be useful is when you don't want to pin the throttle, but want a reduced speed let says, 15mph and just stay at that for a prolonged period without pedaling, so just light cruising

My only interest was if the cruise would actually increase power to maintain the speed when going up inclines, while pedaling, since cadence sensor based PAS doesn't do that if it's just supplying a % of power, so speed varies a lot when going up and down inclines.

There was not a single instance where I felt like I wish I had a cruise control.

If you ride a motorcycle and going on a coast to coast trip... yeah cruise control can be handy on long stretch of highways.

But for ebikes? I don't know..
Far as I’m concerned this isn’t a bicycle. It’s an electric mini-bike, especially if it has cruise control.

Well what if I want to just pedal 25 miles out, and then cruise home, it's a hybrid that does it all.
What if you pedal 90%, but lose your chain, your bike runs on throttle to get home.
To me this offers another level of flexibility.
However if the Ebike rider uses the throttle and cruise 100% of the time, then yeah for sure, to me it is based on how the rider is using the Ebike not how the Ebike is configured.

if you chain breaks its usually that you're not taking care of it. a quick link would fix that.

I used to think the same thing and Im one of those throttle haters

I started using it on my juiced CCX and now like it more than the throttle. Sometimes (flat sections, no curves) I just want to cruise and the cruise control is perfect for that, no need to hold the throttle

Your point stands, don't hate it, until you actually try it.
Almost like how some analog bike riders hated Ebikes, until they got older or injured and now they love them.

I use the throttle a lot...."cruise control" would be nice. Does it have two rear shocks or just one? It's a heavy little bugger at 86 lbs plus the warranty sucks...no coverage for mechanical parts other than what is found when received.

The Rize 2020 is 59 pounds and has cruise control, but as mentioned, it's apparently not a true cruise control, so it won't maintain your speed on ascents, descents, changes in wind...

The the Rize Liberty is 83 lbs. check the link I included, it also has a total of 4 fork/shocks , 2 front 2 back.
It's a heavy beast, but probably super stable, I have 20 X 4" set up so I would imagine it being even better, super nimble with the smaller and wider wheels

EBR just did a test on Juiced Ebike that is very similar but even better than this one, the Hyperscorpion, more money too.
But if your in the market for this type of Ebike both are very strong contenders.

Here it is, but this is next level, in some states it might require insurance and it is on the verge of being an electric moped.
I would think it would also be banned from some bike trails.

Cruise control can be added to any bike with a twist throttle using this device:

Although it isn't a true cruise control since it won't compensate for slope changes, but it is easily adjusted with your thumb.

A cheaper idea is to use this 50 cent pinch clamp:

It holds the throttle in any position you choose.
