The e-bikes of CES 2025

So I got to go to CES last week & bikes, specifically e-bikes, were taking over. Not actually really. AI took over & I hate it, but there were lots of bikes. I'd put most of these on the lower end of the food chain, but there was some nice stuff mixed in too.

I'll probably spread these over a few posts as I have a bunch of card dumps to get through.

I may throw in a motorcycle or 2 for good measure. Electric, of course

This company is making motors and honestly they seem pretty legit

I got to ride this one around the convention hall a little. Note to future self - don't do this. Uncle Andy just slapped this one together convention style. No bolt left tightened

That aside, it really was fun to ride a sketchy bike around CES. Check out the single-sided design front and rear with a Gates belt drive. And some brakes I've never seen that route cables on the inside of the bar. I do wish I'd taken more pictures, because it has some really cool design features.

Time for another motorcycle. Bet ya didn't think you'd see this when I said I was gonna show you a Segway bike huh?

Maybe the best meeting of the trip. You can look into it yourself, so I'll keep it short, but these guys use some really interesting metals and methods to take the air out of your tires

So let me get this straight.

On the one hand, we argue that law enforcement and the legal system can't distinguish between various types of e-bikes but that means we shouldn't enforce any laws about e-bikes. On the other hand, we are shocked when the media and general public cannot distinguish between various types of e-bikes.

And we cry at the unfairness of it all...

This thread hurts my eyes.

Wow. The world is moving right along. If we're going to have e-motos amd Super73's, might as well make good looking ones. All those lower cost mid drives are great.
