The best bike lock in the world? KITACO TDZ-12

The Japanese bike lock manufacture called Kitaco introduced the Ultra Robot Arm Lock TDZ-12, arguably the best bike lock in the world.

The Ultra Robot Arm Lock TDZ-12 lock is virtually indestructible, they claim that you won't be able to break it with 70 metric ton (approx 158,000 lbs) industrial hydraulic cutter, so your typical bolt cutter is seriously out of question.

Price: 120,000 yen ($1,097 US dollar @ today's rate

Length: 2350mm (7.7 feet)
Width: 32mm (1.26 inch)
Weight: 22.6 kg (49.82 lbs)

The first generation of those round flat locks would catch fire if you took a torch to them. I did so. Very attention grabbing. Probably full of magnesium or something. The new ones are cheap, generic and import, so probably cost reduced to steel. The round ones have to be cut twice with a carbide saw to release: I've done that too, when I couldn't get into the garage in June.
I use a cable which is harder to cut than chain. But not those cheapo ones with the built in lock - my lock is upgraded. Some cables coils around the top bar for storage, too.
I just upgraded to a longer cable, to lock the motorized wheel as well as the frame. Previously my bike was only worth $70, the price of one (needing maintenance) at the flea market. This new "Powerwheel" has a bright red sticker with logo to make sure everybody notices it. Also bright red handles for the throttle. I could have used the stealth version.

Master isn't selling the round taiwanese locks anymore I guess. Here is the Brinks version made in *****: (Link Removed - No Longer Exists)
I don't know if the brinks is as tough to get into as the Master lock I cut off the garage last summer. It was worn out, wouldn't unlock anymore. About 10 years old and sat in the rain, no wonder.
Either of these should foil a bolt cutter equipped thief. (import cutter) One with a carbide hacksaw, about an hour of work. With a battery angle grinder, about ten minutes, + a lot of noise and a shower of sparks. Torch owner, 2 minutes plus smoke, smell, flame, shower of sparks. Latter two are very rare. If you're under a security camera, it should show the van well equipped thieves arrived in.

The link for the cable doesn't work ?
 
To find the cable, I searched e-bay for "coiled steel cable" then paged down until I found the 6' one with looped permantly affixed ends. It was made by master. It was 1/4" thick, and was plastic coated to protect your paint. 5/16" would be more secure, but I've never found one that coiled up like that. You can buy 5/16" "wire rope slings" from mcmaster.com and grainger, but they don't store nicely and since they are uncoated, are very hard on paint.
