Suspension shocks freezing in winter riding

Yesterday, I was riding in rain/sleet/snow for a few hours and I noticed my front suspension shocks froze up. I looked at the forks and stanchions were covered in ice. It basically felt like I was riding with the forks in locked position.

Does anyone know if there are covers that you can put on the shocks to keep this from happening.

Not sure if it matters, but these are Suntour Aion air suspension forks. The rear air suspension was fine but wasn't as exposed to the elements as the front forks.

I did a quick search and all I found were ones for motorcycles.

thanks,
William
