Stromer odometer

Am I correct in assuming that there is no mechanical odometer on an ST2? My bike has very poor GSM service at my house. I noticed today when I got to work that my Stromer app said I had ridden 1 mile. My house is about 5 miles away. There is no reason for me suspect that this is the first time the milage did not register. I don't particularly need to know how many miles I've ridden, but I do like to see trends in how far I'm riding on a weekly or monthly basis. It would be nice to know that the miles registered are accurate. I will start resetting the trip odometer to check whether the Omni and App agree. Maybe the app is updated periodically by communication with the bike? Maybe the app only relies on GPS data while the bike uses something mechanical on the bike? I'm curious as to how the two systems work together. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

There is an odometer on the bike itself.
It uses the hall sensor measurement of the motor to calculate the rpm and distance. It can be found on your OMNI under "Total.."
shows you the whrs of battery capacity consumed, total trip time, total distance etc. Once you have sufficient cell coverage, your app will update and display the current reading.
