Stretching before you ride?

Stretching after the ride is WAY more important

As a lifelong athlete, I concur this.
Stretching before the ride keeps the muscle supple and strong but stretching after is very important if one is wanting to keep that strength and suppleness for a very long time and to avoid any kind of injury.
Most of the injuries I have had can be traced back to poor warm-ups and poor after game activity.

I make it a habit to take a warm water shower after any ride that exceeds 25 miles.

Another thing that is crucial is, right kind of hydration.

Hydration I Do agree with. ?

Stretching in general is important and you should do it every day. Stretching before or after a workout has no effect (specifically in regards to the timing, it's as effective as doing it before bed or when you woke up).

Different people need different things. Some need stretching while others don't. There is no one answer.
Having said that, I was a runner for 40 years and never stretched, including before and after races. Now that I've given up running (arthritis in the knees put an end my running) and turned to cycling I still don't stretch.
