Speedbox for SHIMANO E6100 system have you done it?

Friend wants a speedbox. Obviously I have the tools but before I jump in I'd like to know if anyone had issues.
Trek with the SHIMANO E6100

I have had good luck with the Badass Box... no need to open the motor and completely removable.

Note that if the unit is active, the E-Bike display will no longer show the correct speed... only 1/2 speed.

Interesting. Assist BBSxx style can effectively be clown pedaling should the rider want that level of assist. Not so with a Steps drive?
