my 2019 vado is turning on ( all lights are on ) but assist is not coming on.....i dont have the bike computer ( loaned it out to a friend).....any suggestions before i go to shop?
Regardless the display is BLOKS or TCD-w, it must be connected to Vado 6.0 at all times. Otherwise you cannot get the assist. It is because Vado 6.0 is in fact a European S-Pedelec (a moped), and the EU law requires that the speedometer is operating at all times you need the assistance if it is a moped.
I own and ride a Vado 6.0 so I know it very well!
P.S. You cannot let the display's button battery die either.
The discontinued BLOKS display (wired display), or
The 2020 - 2021 TCD-w (L1e-B), a wired display.
If you have had the BLOCKS, the only choice is to ask the dealer to convert your Vado 6.0 to TCD-W (L1e-B). I've heard from several users here it was possible. If your Vado 6.0 is based on TCD-w, the dealer will get a new display for you. Unfortunately, wireless display such as TCD will not work.
I forgot to mention one thing. My Vado had a BLOKS. The bike was converted to TCD-w (L1e-B) by Specialized on warranty. I hear the conversion programme might be actual even today. You might only pay the labour. Worthwhile to ask the dealer. @Marci jo: How was it in your case?
