Second attempt at a simple maintenance stand

Previously I posted a simple homemade bike stand for chain maintenance. It works well but you have to flip the bike upside down which is difficult for heavy ebike. So I came up with a simpler system that only works on bikes with rear racks. I used two pieces of wood I had lying around to clamp the rear of the rack and lift the rear tire about 2 inches. Chain maintenance is now a breeze. I will probably make something more permanent to eliminate the clamps.

I get the idea, but I'd be a bit concerned about this, personally.

I think the rack weight rating is lower than the weight of the bike. Sure, the front tire bears some of the weight, but racks are generally designed with downward loads, not lift loads. This would be especially true on the bolt that mounts to the rear fender.

Then there's possible additional torsion as you perform maintenance, which would also be on the fender bolt.

Having additional support on the non-drivetrain side chainstay for stabilization might alleviate some of this.
 
I just use this flimsy Ibera stand for derailleur adjustments and drivetrain cleaning. It’s cheap but it works.

The load for maintenance is minimal compared to the jarring of bumps and vibration from the road. The welds tubing and fasteners can all easily handle the 40 pounds of lifting all day long.
