curious if anyone is using a seat post bag with a bodyfloat

the revelate vole works with it
and also the axiom oceanwave city pack12

both of these are a little pricey but I am sure they are good bags

just checking out all the options before I go this route

I use this one with my body float. It fits nicely depending on how far back you position the seat rails on the seat post, the further aft the better. The bag quickly snaps on and off the mount which remains attached to the saddle rails. It also has a zipper that expands it adding at least half again the capacity. It is one of the roomier seatpost bags out there and is modestly priced. The mount is solid enough to where it does not need any attachment in front to the seat post.

The only precaution is to glue on a 3/4" diameter spot of fabric for chafe on the front of the bag where the head of the pre-load machine screw on the body float makes contact with the bag.

I do sometimes. I have maybe 4 or 5 different bags, nothing very special. The bags hang more vertical with the BF, but don't interfere with the suspension function. My smallest bag won't stretch the distance, so don't go small.

I can't speak for the Bodyfloat but I used these products on my Trek MTB with Thudbuster seatpost:

I added this product to allow use of panniers

I had just enough exposed seat post to attach the rack. When fully depressed, the Thudbuster would barely touch the bag. It worked well enough but there wasn't much rear tire clearance. The weight was also limited to 25#. I eventually switched to a rear rack for better clearance and more weight capacity.

thanks guys

great replies

debating on rack and panniers or seat post bag

not wanting to add a lot of weight to the bike or make it hard to swing my leg over...

looks like there are a lot of seat post setups that will work

see lots of research in my future lol
