SCAM or LEGIT?

I was on my local bike classified forum yesterday and this guy Dave Jackson had listed a ton of brand new Trek bikes for cheap, included high end emtb's. i.e. 2021 Trek Rail 9.7 $4,000 USD. I contacted him by email and he wrote:

Ask for a customer reference near you. Sounds too good to me since there is a world wide shortage. I'd also talk to Trek. I'm sure they would like to investigate too!

Just Google his email address or phone#s 2036757348 or +447377350333, and you can see he is a new member to a lot of classified forums in North America and oversees where he is selling Specialized, Trek, Cannondale.

Another thing, Google Maps: See if his location is on Google Maps and how many verified reviews from Google Account holders are on the mapped location. For example, my private workshop for bikes is very small and I have 15 reviews on Maps, so he should at least have one review from his mom.

Righto, that should be a back breaking cost to ship it back to the UK from Canada. What good is a store guarantee when I can't even seem to find a web address of this seller? And as others here already said, I think Trek would be very interested about this guy and his collection of brand new Treks at bottom line prices. Here in the US, if you are interested in buying a new Trek, you had to go to a Trek dealer. They, like Specialized, do not ship to buyers. It's why I had to drive all the way from New Jersey to outside Boston, MA to buy one of the last Trek Soho DLX's for sale in the US, several years back, at an Authorized Trek dealer.

I like to check in on Crazy Lenny's to see what deals he's got going on. His premium brands such as Haibike have been sold out for a good many months now. New stock is depleted elsewhere. And along comes good ole Dave!

Run, run and pretend you never found his info. But do pass it on to Trek!

Because he is using Gmail they will shut it down if they investigate as suspect a scam. He then can appeal with showing verification of legitimacy. If you flag them they will do it.

There was a very similiar advertiser on here a year ago from the middle east. Scam....

This is definitely a SCAM. The guy so far has sent me 3 separate addresses of where his warehouse is located. Each time I Google them they come up as some other business. When I asked for photos of his warehouse where all these bikes are stored he sent me photos of the interior of a bike shop. I used Google again to search for "like" photos and a match came up in Bicycles depot on Facebook, based in Miami Fl. So if you are bored and looking to frustrate a scammer, have at it. He goes by the name of Dave Jackson [email protected]. I plan to contact our local law enforcement to see what they can do. Hopefully people do their due diligence and avoid sending money to this guy.
