RST Renagade front shock PSI help?

My front shock feels a bit soft and saggy and doesn’t rebound as quick as I’d like it to. The little orange “marker” ring that rides the piston looks like it’s been very close to bottoming out too and I’ve not really been over anything rough or taxing or whatever. I’ve tried adjusting the rebound but to no avail. I didn’t think that would sort anything but I’m no expert on these things so thought I’d try just in case before asking. I think a little air would sort the softness and also in turn give the rebound some more adjustment fixing both problemsI have a decent general knowledge of cars and bikes and stuff so my question is... can anyone give me a ballpark number where to start with what PSI and should I set the rebound to “middle of the road” so I can adjust that to how I want it when the shock feels like it has more life in it. If just feels limp and dead right now. I’d like it to have less travel and more pop for the way I ride just now. I’m no downhill rider but I’m not shy to go off the beaten track when the situation presents itself. The type of bike I have should show this.

the short should have a psi max rating on it. you cn add air and see but if the seals are leaking it will need rebuilt.

It’s brand new so think it just needs more air. I am only 12 stone in weight and I can bottom it out just leaning on it quite easily.

yes then just more air. you have to dial it in. get a good shock pump and give it a shot. you want about 10% compression with your weight.

Cool. Thanks for the info buddy, that’s exactly what I needed. I’m a tinkerer so I was just looking for a starting point then I’ll tinker about until I get it spot on. 👍
