How wide of a rim is necessary to support a 3 inch tire on a 24 inch rim

A rim with a 35mm inner dimension would be in line with the + trend but a 33 or 30 would work also.

That’s interesting. I see a lot of kits featuring 3 and 4 inch rims. I don’t usually see them advertised in mm. Forgive my ignorance but how many inches wide would be necessary? I’m trying to find a kit for a rear wheel with a 24 inch rim and a 3 inch wide tire. Thanks JRA.
