Riding Cannondale Synapse Neo 1 without battery.

Having purchased a cannondale synapse Neo 1 Ebike I then bought myself a cover for the battery so when the bike is in transit ie, on the car rack the battery goes in the car.
My question is can I ride the bike safely with the battery off the bike but with the cover on. Will it do any damage to the motor mechanism .

I think it would be the same as riding the bike, with the battery in place, but the power turned off. It shouldn't hurt the motor mechanism at all.
