Rear Brake linereplacement

Lectric sent me a rear brake kit for my step thru Xpeak.
I need a new brake line. What I received is brake lever, reservoir, line, caliper and pads.
It appears the system is wet (charged with fluid).
I don't see away to thread either lever or caliper thru the frame. Am I missing something?
I suspect I will disassemble the kit and use only the line then find needed stuff to bleed system. Thanks.
 
I'm not familiar with the xpeak but here is something that might help you pulling cable through the frame:
Use the old cable to HELP GUIDE the old cable by connecting the end of old to end of new. You can use an allen screw or anything of similar diameter to stick in the ends, then electrical tape on the outside to re-enforce the temporary connection. Then start pulling the new cable through.
Or: Use the old cable to pull a fishing line, string, wire, cable (whatever you might have on hand) to pull through the frame then use that line to pull the new cable through.

Thanks, but it's hydraulic brakes. My prob is getting the parts thru the frame w/o opening the fluid system. I am thinking of gorilla tape down the frame side til I get to the original routing.
 
To the OP: If your existing system is a hydraulic system, why not reuse the existing hydraulic line? Perhaps, I do not understand what your existing rear brake system is or what is prompting the replacement.

There is no way to install the new hydraulic line without opening the system. You may also find that you need to adjust the length of the new hydraulic line anyway. This of course will require bleeding and probably new olives and barbs for your connection to the brake lever and caliper. As Johnny Rocket suggested, I would try to use the old hydraulic line to pull the new line in place.

PS - It seems very unusual for a hydraulic line to rupture. I would try to determine what actually caused that. Perhaps the line was rubbing somewhere that caused the failure.

Shrink tube works well to connect the brake lines together.
They also have double walled shrink tube with glue for a stronger connection. (But it can be hard to remove the glue afterwards.)
 
Yeah, I just wish I had a dry line shipped.

There is a keeper that was not secured as it should have been. A honeysuckle vine wrapped around my wheel and forced the unkept line into the rotor. I removed the vine, but after a few stops a bubble developed and burst.
 
I'd be inclined to zip-tie the brake line on to the frame and be done with it.. Threading a wet brake line through the frame would seem to just cause trouble, though it could probably be done satisfactorily. You would need a new ferrule and a bleed kit if you went that route.
