Anyone still sitting on the fence regarding a hydraulic brake conversion for your RW4, all I can say is DO IT!
I went with the XOD conversion kit offered by Big Game Bikes out of the UK. BGB offers a selection of upgrades for RAD bikes, including a prefabricated hydraulic brake kit that arrives pre-filled, and is a virtual perfect fit for the RW4.
The kit comes with extra hydraulic fittings which allows you to trim the rear hydraulic line which perhaps could benefit from a 2-inch haircut.
It took me 3-hours to complete the installation. I could have done it quicker, however I wanted to thread the rear hydraulic line through the frame, a process that took some time to fish through.
(Save yourself the headache and just run the line along the frame).
Once the pads are bedded in, stopping is noticeably improved.
I paid $120USD delivered….prices vary, so you might find a deal shopping around.
