I beat them to it! I have a Bafang true 750 rear hub motor, 35a controller in rear, and a 1000w front hub motor with its' own controller and throttle. They are independently controlled with separate throttles and it works great!

I did a 2wd MAC 10T. WAY to much bike for me, but it was fun to try. Not wanting to buy new wheels nor having disc brake options, I bagged it. But IME a DIY 2wd would be more sustainable than many of the mid-drive options, locking riders into an LBS.
