Radmission accelerator work on highest motor assist?

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if the "accelerator function" will actually do anything if the Pedal/Motor Boost Setting is already set to its maximum number. Like where would the extra "jam" come from?

Thanks!

I am curious about that myself, would also like to know when the digital display upgrade would be available or would the Runner Upgrade they sell work on the mission.

I use my accelerator with w/ or w/o max PAS and med-to-max leg pedal power for even faster acceleration from a stop or more power when climbing short inclines to maintain my speed.

Let's put some numbers on this, starting with the case where the top speed established by your controller is 20mph (round numbers, exactly where you have it set and how fast it will actually go not relevant at this point). You're in PAS 5, on straight smooth level pavement pedaling at 16-17mph, and maybe grunting a little as you're tiring. My thinking is a burst of wide open throttle at this point should take you right to 20mph.

Does that answer your question, or have I misunderstood?

The stock Mission and Runner come with a 4 level PAS setup with no lcd readout. The other bikes come with a 5 level PAS setup with lcd display that includes the wattage output at each level. I know on my 2019 City ST that PAS 5 puts out 750 watts (the max allowed). I would presume the 4 level PAS setup puts out 750 watts at PAS level 4. My guess is the throttle does no extra good at that point.

Again, just speculation as there is no wattage readout on the 4 level PAS setup. It would be a good question to ask Rad what the wattage levels are for each PAS setting on the Runner/Missin bikes.

So I did misunderstand. Failed to note we were talking about a RAD Mission!

Good question i ordered a rad mission also, have you gotten a shipping date? The accelerator stops at 32 km/h in Canada, any level of assist it cuts off at limit to go over it means you have to pedal, under the limit the assist will go however fast you can pedal i think its going to be at a pretty fast pace, hope thats what you meant, happy trails please let us know if and when you receive bike ☺️

Thank you for the clarification.

About your shipping question, here's what I posted on the Calgary Rad Power Bikes FB page recently ...

At 8:00 am I sent this message to Rad Power Bikes Canada on October 6th ...

Hi Guys,

As the Subject Line indicates, I was just wondering if there is any news about the arrival (in Canada) of the new Radmission bikes.

Everybody totally understands that Covid 19 has thrown a monkey wrench (still available from Park Tools, thank God) into the world’s delivery lines, but those of us who have pre-ordered Radmissions are (naturally) curious to know if the original goal of an October shipping-date is still viable.
It would be handy to know … one way or the other …
Many thanks!

And a few minutes ago around 3:00 pm I received this reply ...

Hey Ron,

Thanks for reaching out! In regards to your order number # ********* for the RadMission 1 ebike, we have an estimated shipping timeline of late October/early November. Our current estimate is that it will be departing our warehouse in the last few days of October, but this could get pushed into the first part of November.

Please note that these shipping estimates are provided with the most current information we have, and that they are subject to change. As you noted in your email, we're doing the best we can to keep bikes flowing into our warehouse, and shipping out to customers, during a global pandemic. You are always welcome to reach out to us a bit closer to your shipping estimate, so we can provide an update!

If there is anything else I can assist with, please let me know! I would also recommend checking out our Help Center directly as it is a great resource for any questions you may have.

Read it again, closely. No guarantees, and 100% honest. I was surprised and pleased to get such a fast (same-day) un-canned response from a real person ... especially these days!

I agree. I had the same experience, and was also impressed. I’m happy to be supporting what seems like a very good company. Hoping the Mission arrives early. They told me my Rover would be the end of October, and it arrived last week! It’s an amazing bike, I’m loving it!

Ru talking about the radmission? I thought everyone was waiting for their ride!!!😂👀

I was only referring to how I use the throttle in situations under max speed. I am assuming the throttle will work the same in any PAS setting and provide max wattage until it is released or you reach max ebike speed. On my Rover/City, pedaling in PAS 5 put out the same 750w of power as using the throttle. The extra "jam" would come from me adding leg power to get any extra speed/power above the 750w the ebike provides.

I'm usually in PAS 2/3 and use the throttle as the extra "jam" when needed (hills, making a light, faster acceleration, etc...).
