So I just ordered a bafang mid drive conversion kit! And as many of you know the Bafang customer service has a lot to be desired! Won’t answer simple questions like 1- what type of chain do I need for my conversion
2- Are the teeth on the ebike chain ring and sprocket the same size as the teeth on a mountain bike( chain ring supplied need th know if I need to change sprocket) Hope you all can give me some good advice

1) That depends on how many speed you have on your bike. Chain size are different, as you may no...6 speed chain are a lot bigger than 12 speed chain.
2) Yes, ebike are basically bicycles, chains, sprocket, chainrings, etc.. are basically the same thing.
That is the answer I was looking for!! They’re the same. But you brought up a good point. My bike is a 24 speed but the three cassette chain ring comes off need to install Bafang single ring which makes the bike an 8 speed

As to Bafang not personally responding to your question, consider the fact that the BBSXX units are probably the most prolific mid-drive conversions out there. Hence, there is probably more public domain info on these motors and the bikes they go in compared to anything else available. It's almost like you don't need Bafang's personal responses on anything outside of warranty and such. Operational and component advise exists in spades on the internet across quite a few sites. I don't say this to let Bafang off the hook, so to speak, but it's like asking GM for advice on what to do with an LS V-8 when the public info available on that engine is massive and perhaps more useful.

Yeah, motor customer service is not going to help you build a bike. There has to be a lot of builder blogs out there.
