Hello,
I'm about to purchase a Model Y for my partner who weighs about 180lbs. It seems to be perfect, the only thing we are worried about is that we live on a steep hill that's about a half mile long. We do live in a hilly area overall but most of the riding will likely be on the trail nearby. We plan on getting the 7spd and I imagine that will be enough to get up our hill with some pedal assist at the least. I have watched some reviews where they were able to speed up a 12% hill grade with pedal assist and I think ours is around 20% but we just want to make sure before we buy something that is also quite heavy for them to haul up that hill by foot. At what point should we start to worry about using a hub drive versus going with a bike that has a mid drive?
Thanks!
