Quality places to purchase batteries

I’m in the market for my first e bike battery. In doing some research, I am kind of overwhelmed with all the choices. I am looking at 36 V 10 to 15 amp hour batteries. Just wondering if anyone could recommend sites are places where I could purchase a quality battery with premium cells?

I have an Electra townie 8i. Going to install a bfang bbs01 36v, no throttle or gear sensor.

I’ll be mounting it on the downtube. I think you misunderstood my question. I looking for suggestions of reputable sites where I can go to purchase a battery.

Are you doing a diy conversion or looking for a specific battery to fit your bike?

If it's a diy project bike, take a look here:

Good company with a reliable product.

Thank you! That is what I was looking for. I have the motor and need to purchase a battery. When I was researching batteries I see a lot of stuff from China, generic cells for the batteries,etc.. and prices for a 36v 10ah battery anywhere from 150 to 400.00. All the higher priced batteries use name brand cells like Samsung, Panasonic or LG.. I’d rather pay more for a good battery than try to save money only to regret it later.

I recently bought an EM3EV 36v 17ah 612wh battery pack from California Ebike. It took about a month to arrive from China. I mounted it on the downtube of a Breezer Downtown pedal bike and am using it to power a 2013 BBS01a. The battery replaced a Luna pack I bought in 2016, I went with EM3EV for the new pack for various reasons: because of its reputation as being easy for an ebike shop to service if they ever needed to replace the BMS or a cell; the individual cell fusing for safety; quality cells (Panasonic GA or Samsung 35E); the companies good reputation on Endless Sphere, etc. I bought it from California Ebike rather than direct from EM3EV because that was the shop I bought the motor from and I've had good parts service from them over the past 5 years, I feel if something went wrong with the battery I could contact them and obtain parts they could mail me for a local shop to service the battery, and the price with shipping wasn't significantly more expensive than if I ordered direct.

The battery came with a 2a charger, that uses an ST3 charge port, I bought a second charger I keep at work and that came separately in about 2 weeks, if you want to charge faster Grin sell a 4a ST3 charger. The battery mount came with bullet connectors I cut off and replaced with crimp-on Anderson HD connectors. I like the smart BMS with a phone app I can use to check the charge level. So far the battery has delivered a 30-35 mile range on my hilly route with the BBS01 controller set at 18a, and riding uphill in PAS 4, so my power consumption is between 17-20wh/mile.

lol, Timpo aint askin questions to interview you....thats for sure. you need to be more specific, there are tons of different types of batteries and therefore different types of battery sellers.

So I’m glad you both are entertained by a simple request from a new member. The question: where are reliable places to purchase e bike batteries with premium/quality name brand cells? You still never provided an answer. Thanks to Dewey I purchased one from EM3ev. Also found out from another site that FTH power is a place in the US that cells quality packs. You both can go…(fill in the blank) lololol!

BTW good choice of bike to convert, I’ve read the Townie is very comfortable. My Breezer Downtown 8 ST has the same Nexus 8 IGH as your Townie 8i, I find it a good choice for the BBS01. Shimano recommend a 2:1 ratio so I asked my local bike shop to fit a 21t rear sprocket, and I fitted a 42t Luna chainring.

As you can see, you can either mount it on the frame or rear rack.
There are other locations like front basket, in the seat post, etc... but generally these two are the most popular locations.
That sure look fine.(didn't mean to meddle.)
