Protective bike jackets?

After my spill last week, I've been thinking that a jacket with some shoulder protection might be a good idea. Ideally it would be a standard bike commuter jacket, like the ubiquitous Showers Pass eVent jacket, with shoulder pad pockets in it. I'm looking for something lighter than the street motorcycle protective jackets. I wonder if there's a market for these among city bike commuters. Any ideas?

Lots of nice jackets that don’t look like a squid. I’ve a hein gericke with elbow and shoulder pads. And the I spend all summer in flip flops t shirt, and shorts. Oh, and gloves.

Looks like a good jacket. You may be interested in this thread: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/what-do-you-wear-when-e-biking.26223/

I considered the Alpine Stars Evolution, Sixsixone Evo, and the Dainese Rhyolite 2 as my top three. Went with the Alpinestars jacket because the sleeves can come off and the motorcycle rated spine protector. I wear it under my Sponeed cycling jacket, can't tell it's there from a distance.

There's lots of light body protection to choose from. I have a high vis wind breaker with elbow/back/shoulder protection, plus Kevlar lined for abrasion resistance in the obvious skid areas. It has a liner that can be removed for even lighter weight/feel. You can buy just tshirts w/armor protection if wanted.
