I agree with most of the cons they list. Heck, almost everything has pros and cons. For me ebike pros FAR out-way the cons.

Dammit, I rode with two e-bikes of mine through water-holes so deep those covered my mid-motors and nothing wrong happened! I often ride in torrential rains on my e-bikes and nothing wrong has ever happened! What e-bike is the author talking about?!

I don't know why, but I looked at a couple of other articles on that site. Apparently 250W isn't enough power for an e-bike, and I should only expect 25 miles of range on my 500Wh battery.

It looks like the site is essentially an Amazon affiliate link site, and they're hoping these "informative" articles will give them more SEO traction.

Yes. I figure a bike made in a wet climate country ought to be quite waterproof. My bike was outside during quite a downpour and was fine afterwards.

My electric assist has gone dead twice in heavy rains. Cooking the throttle with a hair dryer fixes the problem. I have not been foolish enough to ride through water high enough to touch the hub motor, and the controller & battery are 24" off the ground.
