Powder coating wore off to metal on Turbo Vado 5.0

Hey all, I had my bike in for a brake job and had to remove an Ortleib that I haven't removed in 1700 km. I noticed that the clamps that hold the bag on the rack have worn through the powder coating, all the way down to bare metal. Is this anything to worry about? I'm not sure it this is aluminum, or steel that will rust. Thanks!

I have used auto touch up paint although it has gotten expensive even on Amazon, on the flat black parts I’ll hit it a few times with a permanent marker, there are many of them around my home, of course I can’t find one when I need it,

Thanks for the post! Yeah I don't mind it not being painted, since I keep a pannier there all the time. I'm more worried about it rusting. The weird thing is that the coating is very thick, like powder coating or plastic wrap (not sure which) and I'm pretty sure I could peel it off if I wanted to. So even if I tried painting it it would look terrible and be very rough and obvious.

If it is aluminum a magnet won't stick, steel it will.
Unless it’s (most) stainless. :D

A while back I touched up the rack on my Vado 4.0 with rustoleum rattlecan - worked great. Masked off everything but what needed paint.

unfortunately I don’t recall if matte or satin and the can is 100 miles away.

You can rest assured it isn't a high enough grade stainless steel for a magnet to not stick.
