Plastic free lunchboxes for rear panniers?

I HATE glass !!

I've got a Hate-On for ceramics too.
It's not as dangerous, but it's heavy and breaks too easily.

I've broken more than a dozen coffee cups and three toilets (there was beer involved), so I bought an insulated stainless steel mug.

It still makes a mess when you drop it, but I don't have to replace the mug and I don't cut myself. 😁

Now all I need is a stainless steel toilet and I'll be all set !!

This is the mug I have used for pasta.

Side note: of all the beer I have had, never have I broke a toilet. Were you throwing them in the street? Like, were they installed toilets? I feel like I may not like the answer. Lol

I was staggering drunk in my bathroom when I felt myself starting to fall down.
Instead of trying to brace for impact on the floor while trying to keep my head from hitting the sink, tub or toilet, I collapsed into the seated position on the toilet.

That saved me from hitting the floor, but I had some backwards momentum when I landed on the toilet seat, my back slammed into the toilet tank, and broke the tank off the toilet.

Fortunately, I could still use the toilet using a bucket of water while I purchased and installed a new toilet.

I did the exact same trick twice so on my third toilet, I braced the back of the toilet tank against the wall so I wouldn't break it off again.

I'm actually on my third toilet now, and broke two.
This third toilet is better braced for impact, but I haven't tested it yet. 😁

Nah, just get another stainless mug. Label the first one INPUT and the second one OUTPUT.

I have a small sized stainless steel bento box container in my car for a few emergency food snacks. there are all different sizes. So you could have multiples of the same size stacked in your pannier. this is small but it just gives you another direction to search. this is what I have in my car :
800ml G.a HOMEFAVOR Bento Lunch Box, Stainless Steel Lunch Containers Leakproof
Edit: The undivided version. BTW, I have no Japanese heritage, and wish I had time to assemble proper Bento Box lunches. I know it is a thing!

EDIT 2: above link is non insulated. there are tons of small insulated carriers you could use to hold the stainless steel containers, for the hot foods, if needed.
