Pedal assist and speed

You may not like the answer, but the only way I know of is to replace the controller and display with one sold on the aftermarket, and depending on how handy you are, that may or may not be an easy job. The controller/display combos by KT are reasonably priced but come with little in the way of documentation. They are very adjustable....

The bigger point is, few OEM controllers allow anything in the way of PAS speed adjustments.

Is there a way to adjust the speed on the pedal assist level for a Magnum pathfinder 500
I agree with AHicks above. You may be able to find a compatible programmable controller but fitting it to the bike will take a lot of work.

The PAS speeds on my bike aren't programmable either. Instead, I use this cruise control device which clips onto the twist throttle:

It holds the throttle at any speed you choose. You then pedal to assist the bike rather than it assisting you. You can apply as much or as little pedal effort as you want. I find it actually improves range by eliminating current surges caused by variations in pedal pressure when using PAS.

Setting the throttle like this describes the power based PAS systems to a "T". It takes your speed right out of the picture. Power based PAS let's you assign a power level much like you are doing when setting the throttle with the "cruise". Each PAS level would have it's own throttle setting. You want/need more assist, go to a higher PAS level with power based PAS, or with a higher throttle setting using the "cruise". End result is the same....

KT is the only one using power based PAS for their controllers, but noteworthy maybe, are the big Bafang mid drives (BBSxx series and the Ultra). They offer the option of this same power based PAS, or the more conventional speed based PAS. Try each and go with what works best for you, but the power based PAS is WAY more popular.....
