Panasonic to recall 346,291 ebikes in Japan due to 37 cases of battery fire

Looks like there has been 37 cases of ebike battery fire in Japan.
They're recalling 346,291 affected units, sold between Oct 2012 to Jan 2015.

I wonder what kind of fires - while in use, in charging or other. The bike on the photo is beautiful, btw. Smooth curves, chain cover, double stand - is this too much to ask?
