Just joined so here's some information about me. I own three electric bikes, a Electric Technologies Fat Trike, a LX Sondors and a SX Sondors. I am 74, in not the greatest health, fly fishing is one of my loves, lifelong motorcyclist riding CanAm Spyders (2) presently, enjoy our Toy hauler and have a handicapped son (50) who presents challenges. Live in Missouri, not by choice. Love southern Minnesota, the Root River Basin in particular. I found electric bikes to be the answer to my health issues and mental stability. Welcome! I’ve spent a bit of time riding on the Root River Trail! Hope to get up on the RRT again this summer or fall.😎👍 We have two Trek Allant+7 and a Trek Rail 5.
 
Welcome to the EBR forums. I recently bought my first ebike... a Sondors MXS when I really wanted the LX. The LX would not ship until September and I needed to be riding now for heath reasons. After getting the MXS in-hand, I went ahead and ordered the LX too. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the differences between the XS and the LX and which you prefer to ride.
 
Having both grants me some knowledge of the two. I first bought my SX nearly two years ago. Rode desert primarily and had many slow leaks develop for obvious reasons. Green Slimed and never looked at a low tire again many miles later. I love my SX most of all, the power, grace and ease of climbing insane hills. I've adapted it to fit me perfectly with Amazon parts for very little cost. The LX came later, last March or so. We haven't ridden it much due to health issues with our handicapped son. I have ridden enough to come to love the power and smooth ride of this machine. At 35 mph it is stable as any motorcycle I've ridden. The power is both smooth and strong. I fully expect to come to love it insanely as well.

Mixed bag on our Fat Trike. It has many good qualities but lacks stability and traction is horrible off road. The narrow stance is not good, it causes high levels of stress and you must slow to a less than walking pace. The front wheel drive is a terrible idea. Also I have serious problems with Electric Technologies customer support. I have tried to obtain instructions on changing setting to accommodate my handicapped son--------crickets from them to date. It is well constructed and very powerful and it is fine for a full ability rider that grasps the need for caution when cornering and such. The perfect machine would be a reverse trike with wider stance and fully controllable settings. Rear wheel drive is the only way to go. Sorry for the late reply, son having a very rough period.
 
Thank you so much for letting me know! I'll rarely be going off road, just the odd wood chip trail to connect to another paved bike path. And am not very tall, so will have the center of gravity brought down, which will hopefully help the stability issue. It seems like, just like buying a car, there is nothing that will fit all my needs perfectly, but this guy hits the ones I need pretty much the most closely of all I’ve looked at. And they are in stock, which is not easy to find right now. I've been given delivery times of 6 months to a year on others, and I just can't wait that long - this is going to be my primary mode of transportation. It’s disappointing to hear that Customer Service is a problem, but I'm still thinking that, for me, this is a good move. But I appreciate your feedback and will keep it in mind as I go triking my way around town!! Sending good vibes with your son...my son, who is now 35, struggled with and still struggles with his mental health so I know a little of the road you travel. At least with a bike, you can get out to periodically clear your head so you can continue to deal with the issues! Best of luck to you all! 😊

Thanks for the reply, and yes you will enjoy the Fat Trike. It is a fine machine in many ways and long as it's not asked to off road much you'll do fine. It is one of the most powerful out there and is strongly built. Just wish they had made the front wheels further apart, next model hopefully.
