Nyon seems to work on Intuvia head unit. Any advice?

Evidently, the Nyon works on an Intuvia base. Would i void the warranty by doing this? Or, is it a bad idea?
  • Can i simply have the dealer upgrade to Intuvia?
  • Buy Nyon from UK?

I'm picking the Police bike up today! I'll keep you posted.

I'll also be adding a Bosch Nyon color, center-mounted screen with discrete remote. I ordered the Nyon retrofit kit for $355 from Merlin Cycles in the United Kingdom. Swapping out the Purion controller seems to require removing the drive unit for the cable run (video: https://www.e-bikeshop.co.uk/Bosch-eBike-Support), which I'll likely seek help with rather than DIY.

The Nyon is apparently not offered in the United States and so yes, I'm a little concerned about warranty. But its plug and play, so I don't actually agree that warranty should be affected - even though it may be.

I'll also be swapping the seat and seatpost with a bontrager gel and a bodyfloat 2.1 once I determine how long the seatpost needs to be.

I don't know the answer, but I sure wish Bosch would bring the Nyon to the US. I suppose with the tariffs and trade war it is even more unlikely now.

I spoke with a dealer in Denver, who I bought two bikes from. He is going to confirm the details, but he thinks there are no compatibility problems. He actually owns a Trek Super Commuter+ 8 .

This has been discussed quite a bit here. @Alaskan was kind enough to post his how-to, so search for it. I’ll add some comments here. I’ve been using the Nyon instead of Intuvia for about 2k miles without issue. It will work with the Intuvia thumb pad but you will have to rely on the Nyon joystick to access full functionality. You can get the Nyon-specific thumb controller on eBay.de. The 1 Gb Nyon was available on US eBay early summer from multiple CA sellers.

You can create an account at Bosch’s e-connect (Nyon) site. If you want the phone app, you’ll have to go to one of those iffy Chinese mirror sites for Android apps to get around the restricted (not avail to US) download. Some sites are listed in the thread initiated by Alaskan.

Sorry, i search from google. Did not get a hit there. Will use ebr search in the future.

The link in Mr Coffee’s post should work for you.

Warranty issue is between you and your dealer. First, the word here was that Nyon was coming to the US! Then we were told No Nyon, COBI! Then COBI stopped shipping to the US without warning. Now there is yet another Bosch product but haha, No Aftermarket! It is absurd that we have to troll ebays and shady sites just to get battery percentage, but apparently this is how Bosch builds brand loyalty, /shrug.

My local bike shop installed Nyon (purchased from UK) for $80.

All of my rides are saved and mapped on the web which I love.
