No power

Installed charged battery and got power indication of 5 bars on indicator but no juice to motor. Display light also would not come on. Any thoughts ????
 
You need to turn on the console.

So, for Izip bikes, you need to turn on the battery AND the console before any power delivery happens.
 
Console turned on after battery and display showing 5 bars and all gear assist positions as well as correct info select screen displayed. Console night light would not turn on and motor was not powered in TURBO or assist select 1,2,3,or 4. I felt that the problem must lie in the selector panel itself with the the night lite disabled as well. Just a throttle problem alone should not kill the lite too. This occurs after taking the bike in for a tire change at my Castro Valley bike shop. I checked that the connector to the rear hub-mounted motor was secured after the tire change. This happens (of course) on the three day Labor Day weekend when the weather here in the San Francisco Bay Area is perfect. Oh well, back to the bike shop this morning as they open at 10am. I really doubt a quick fix to save the weekend. Now we'll see how good my shop is and how Currie Customer Service responds. Bike is 7 months old and has let me back to biking after double knee replacement severely curtailed my biking ability. Flatlands fine, hills or winds quickly diminish my time on a traditional bike. Sounds similar to my problems with E3 Metro I posted in Currie Tech forum here. If I ever get a resolution to the problem I will post it here to see if it helps you. For now REI Silverdale WA has the bike and is working with IZIP under Warranty. ....Dean

I am not familiar with your bike but my $2M worth of advice. Check ALL electrical connections including, display mount/contacts, all electrical connections on the handlebar, and do a total disconnect/reconnect of all electrical connections. I might also check the seating of you battery to make sure it has solid contact. If you totally disconnect and then reconnect everything (including battery) electrical, you have eliminated loose connections. Some bikes have a connector to the motor and then another connector midway to the display. It is possible something got yanked on. Be sure all pins are straight and connections are tight.

Otherwise, enjoy the weekend and your visit back to the shop.
 
Took bike into Castro Valley Ca. shop. Shop mech went completely over it using procedure off internet. It failed numerous steps and he did a complete disconnect,inspection and reconnect of all plugs. Took apart back of display. Nothing obvious and he looked hard. Of course, due to Holiday weekend Currie will not be available for consult til' Tuesday. I,m still thinking the problem is in the selector switch assembly on the handlebars near the display as display lite also went out at same time. Display is functioning, just not low light function. We shall see. Thanks for your input and commiseration. This site is great. I wish I'd found it sooner.
 
Wow, I just an update from my dealers tech today re: no power to motor on I ZIP Dash 3. Currie sent all the control parts to the dealership and the tech removed and replaced selector panel, display and the brake sensors on each handle bar assembly. No joy at all. After an on phone troubleshooting consult by Currie with the tech, Currie told the tech to contact me and offer me a 2015 replacement swap. I was stunned by this to say the least. Then I asked the wrong question. Would the new replacement bike come with a warranty to reflect it's new status or would I only have the remainder of the one year warranty which is three months ( one of which it will have spent in the shop unrideable). The tech seemed to feel it was unreasonable to get a new bike with a full warranty. I told him to go ahead and I'd contact Currie myself to discuss the warranty issue. I can just picture taking this deal and facing the same problem a few months from now with no warranty support at all. I'll end up out of pocket to repair a bike that won't function without a MAJOR repair. How is this fair? Am I expecting too much. I'm thrilled that Currie sees the bike as not being repairable by the bike store tech and offers me a new ride but no warranty on the new replacement bike leaves me very nervous. Can I get some input from the group in terms of advice on this? Thanks for any thoughts you may offer.

You are looking at the replacement as restarting the clock on your purchase. My feeling is your warranty is being honored by a repair with replacement of parts and in this case those parts are all of them. That doesn't restart the clock on your purchase/contract, your contract started at purchase. If it were me I would take the bike with the remaining contract. I don't think you can or should get both a new bike and new warranty. If that were the case any warranty repair should restart the clock on the warranty.
