After riding road bikes for years I got a Trek hybrid mostly for the riding position as I got older. Now that bike has been sitting in the garage, since we moved to a town with few bike-friendly routes and lots of hills. I do miss riding, so I started looking into e-bikes and after a lot of research I narrowed my interest to the Aventon Aventure as my first electric. I called a nearby dealer and was told that these bikes were sold out as soon as they got them and that they were expecting two Aventures in a shipment, but that they both were spoken for by people who had put down a deposit. Not having ever seen one in the flesh, we went to the shop on delivery day just to take a look. As we pulled up we could see several Aventon boxes but none that had been assembled. Talking with the owner I asked about putting in a deposit. He asked what I was interested in and I pointed to the Aventure boxes and said that I knew they were spoken for. He told me to hold on while he checked his paperwork, then he told me that both bikes were step-over frames and that one of the people who was waiting had asked for a step-through. While we went to lunch he called his other customer to see if they wanted it anyway. They didn't, so now I am the owner of a new e-bike. It's still got to be assembled and I'm picking it up early next week. I hope I'm as lucky about everything to do with this as I was about finding the bike.

Welcome Katzenjammer to EBR, nice to have you and I think that you made a good choice with an Aventon. Good luck and ride responsibly.
