I recently bought a Radrunner--how hard should it be to pedal it without pedal assist? I know it's heavy, but it is much more difficult than a non ebike.

Welcome.Check the Radrunner forum. Lots of Rads on here.

In his 2019 review Court said the radrunner had a geared hub motor. This should not drag unpowered.
OTOH it has 20" x 3.3" tires. Fat tires are known to drag quite a bit without power. Have you ever ridden an unpowered fat tire bike before? I haven't. Since I ride unpowered about 80% of the distance, I made sure not to buy a fat tire bike. My 2.1" tires will air up to 55 PSI. I read that fat tires are not rated for that much air pressure.

I have a RadRover. Different bike, so i don't know about yours, but I would never want to have pedal my bike very far, or uphill, without power assist. It can be done but it ain't fun!

Thanks very much everyone. This bike weighs 65 pounds with the battery. Whew. I did adjust the brakes and that helped some. I thought the tires would help with my balance problems (I'm 76) but in retrospect I think 2-in ones would have worked fine. When I was a bike commuter in Boston some decades ago I rode a super light Bianchi with skinny high pressure tires. The 3" (actually 3.3") tires on this beast hold 30 lbs max. But I'm counting all this as a learning experience. I like the bike and plan to enjoy it. The Rad company has been very helpful.
