I have noticed on my bike that when the first three bars out of six bars are gone on the battery indicator on my display, that I have actually used up over 2/3 of the available juice....not just 1/2. So perhaps when the author of the review says that he only used 70% of the available battery, he was referring to the battery gauge on his display which could be off by a wide margin.
