I am in Central Pennsylvania. I am looking to get back into riding. I suspect I will be using the bike for general fitness and some of the many rail trail around the area. I was looking at a LBS here in York, but they are out of stock. I road the 3.0 and really enjoyed it, but now wondering if the bigger battery and upgrades are worth the extra $800 to go to the 4.0. Any thoughts are welcome.

Hello and welcome from another in Cental Pennsyltucky. With the long climbs around here, I would get the 4 if money permits, but Im happy with a Como 3. I live along the Susquehanna river.

I live in East York and work in Harrisburg. I almost bought the Como, but wanted to keep up with a neighbor how has a class 3, that is why I was leaning towards to Vado. Plus I was thinking the shocks may help with some of the gravel rail Trails.

Guess it depends on how fast you want to go as well as how steep you want to climb. Personally I'm Ok with 20 mph max., but I want more torque up hill in hindsight.

We got our Vados with bigger batteries despite the extra $. Neither one of us has said "gee, I wish I had a smaller bettery"...🤣

So which Vado did you go with?
We both ride the Vado 5, but our little town is very hilly. The V4, with its smaller chain ring, has about the same hill climbing ability as the V5, but the V5 is faster and has a bigger battery still...🤣

We're very happy with them.

@Sierratim climbs real mountains on that (top of the line) bike, I climb Pennsylvania hills with under half of the torque he's got in my entry level Como. The torque specs run from 35 or 40 nm to 75nm and 85 nm. More is better, but expensive and maybe overkill for around here.

There is someone here who has both a Como and super light Vado attempt to link

There is someone actually more than one someone here who has both a Como and a Vado attempt to link
