Thanks for allowing me to be a member of this forum. I just bought my first E MTB. It's an BH Emotion Rebel 27.5 hardtail. I absolutely love the bike however I haven't ridden it much to this point. The first time out in the woods indicated to me a couple of things. Either I need rear suspension or I need to get my butt up off the seat when going up hills. That is typically when I sit down while riding the bike. I use to race motorcross and hair scrambles 30+ years ago and since then I haven't been very active so I'm a tad out of shape. But with increased mountain biking toward the tail end of summer and into the fall my leg strength should be a point where I will not need to have my butt on the seat much! :)

Welcome to the club!

Your butt will toughen up the more you ride. I find most stock saddles uncomfortable, I prefer a Brooks B17, but it's not for everyone. I'm not recommending any particular saddle over another. A lot of threads here on the search for the perfect saddle.

I also have hardtail eMTB's and a seatpost suspension is extremely important. I have a Kinekt and a Thudbuster. Both work well, but I do prefer the Kinekt. There are some other lower priced options available. Ebikers tend to spend more time in the saddle, the more comfortable you are the more you'll ride.

Kinekt is 25% off at Selle Anatomica right now.

I'm still dialing in the preload, but I was surprised at how effective it is at smoothing things out. I ordered mine at 10:30 at night and it shipped directly from Cirrus the next morning.

A big welcome to you CKen. A good suspension post like J.R. and a comfortable saddle will make a huge difference.
