I have a Pedago Interceptor. I've had it almost 4 years and have put almost 7,000 miles on it. We have had some great times riding some great trails. However, in the last few weeks I've experienced some concerning and irritating problems. The odometer on the controller stopped recording after we hit 4900 so we had new controllers installed. My controller worked fine for a couple thousand miles, but in the last few weeks I've had some strange experiences. They started out sporadically, but now I am experiencing them, at some level, during every ride. The biggest problem is that I will lose power and can only get power with the throttle. After using the throttle for a minute or so it will pick up and start operating as normal. The more concerning issue is that sometimes the bike will surge on its own. I may be cruising along at about 12 MPH and suddenly the bike will surge to 15+MPH. I brake to cut the surge and that usually works. The most concerning issue - and this has happened about four time now - is that when I put the battery in to begin a ride, I turn the controller on and the bike surges off on its own. It will travel maybe 10 feet before turning itself off. The first time this happened I was straddling the bike. Luckily both feet were on the ground but the surge was strong enough it almost took me over. Again, using the brake cut the motor, but not instantly. Since then I stand to the side of the bike when I turn the on the controller.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? If so, what did you do to resolve the problem?
Thanks so much for any suggestions. I look forward to reading about the adventures that others are having with their bikes.
