New FullSeven owner wanting more MPH

I had a Easy Motion EVO that I really liked and I guess someone else did too..... because it was stolen a few months ago! Bummer!

I wanted to experience a mid-motor option which is why I purchased the FullSeven. I really like the bike except the fact that the pedal assistance kicks off around 19 mph. On my EVO, it kicked off around 22 - 24.

Since I do a fair amount of riding on the road, is it possible to squeeze a bit more out on the top end?

You can buy a dongle to de-restrict it. I saw the link once, but don't have it. Several hundred bucks. Not sure if I care enough or not.

Mine too signs off about 19-19.5mph. What's up with that? You'd think digital would be exactly at the 20mph mark.

Very simple and effective but it completely messes up your speed and distance indication.

That's very clever, but it would bug me a lot to have the speed and distance screwed up. Mostly not knowing how far I've ridden. And adding a bike computer seems silly , if the cheaper route.
I think if I have to have more speed I'll have to buy the dongle.

A smartphone app could track speed and distance more accurately. And a cadence magnet would fit neatly inside the pedal bolt hole. Attach the sensor with two mini tie wraps

Just thought it was a painless way to see if the extra speed was worth it.

Oh no doubt! I'm just a bit anal about some things being "off" or not.
It's a 4k bike and the speedometer and odometer "dont' work", ....... It would bug me. I would need to fix it in relatively short order.

I might do it to see what it feels like but I doubt I leave it at this point. 90% of my riding is on our urban and rural bike paths where even 20 mph is too fast in places. I had my Stromer up to 33mph with hard pedaling but I don't need to go that fast ever really. I have a motorcycle to get my speed buzz from. I want to be relaxed and comfortable riding bicycle.

But we're all different.

What was circumstance of theft if I may ask? Curious to see if the thieves are on to the value of these bikes.

My wife left for work and saw the garage door go down but we think it bounced back up and allowed the thief to steel both my bike and my wife's brand new Cannondale.
What a bad day! We have insurance but with a $1000 deductible. I did get a great buy on my FullSeven. I found a dealer who sold me it for $2600.

Boy, I really appreciate all the input on my question. I'm still relatively new to the whole ebike thing, so I'm not super clear yet on what recommendation I should try implementing.

you can buy bike insurance for less than a couple hundred a year with much lower deductible and better, bike specific coverages, fyi!

I lost a couple of motorcycle helmets that way. Now I keep it in sight till it's down and stopped. (bet you do too)
In higher risk areas some people are putting D rings anchored into the concrete floor (!) to lock bikes and motorcycles to. I have 2 motorcycles and 2 expensive E bikes that I'd sure hate to lose in one fell swoop!

Great idea!! I think they were kids because they could have walked out with a lot more tools. The challenge for them will be that they also forgot the battery charger and I have alerted the dealers and Evo Home Office to be aware of someone ordering a bike charger!
