The Giant Roam E+ might work for you. Listed at $2699 but independent bike stores might negotiate a better price. If you’re looking for a more MTB style then the Giant Talon E+ 29 2 but it is a bit more expensive. The Roam would be a better commuter though.Looking for new ebike in the new year, current bike has a terrible range only getting 25km using assist mode 3 majority of the time. Looking for commuting mountain style bike, budget approx $2,500 Canadian.
Commuting and mountain biking are two very different uses. Which would predominate?Looking for new ebike in the new year, current bike has a terrible range only getting 25km using assist mode 3 majority of the time. Looking for commuting mountain style bike, budget approx $2,500 Canadian.
I think the OP is looking for a commuting ebike(but on mountain style bike).Commuting and mountain biking are two very different uses. Which would predominate?
Yes, I like front suspension due to bumpy roads.I think the OP is looking for a commuting ebike(but on mountain style bike).
I have a Rize and it's great but the Biktrix Duo is only 45bucks over your budget and a far better fatbike than the Rize because the RizeX only has one battery..Thanks for all replies, currently have a HOTEBIKE mountain bike with 500 watt motor. I use the bike to commute to work. I have looked at some of the bikes which have been recommended but I want stay in budget.
I was thinking of the Rize X bike or RadRover 5, anyone any experience with them,?
The Biktrix bikes get a good name. I’ve seen a few good reviews myself.I have a Rize and it's great but the Biktrix Duo is only 45bucks over your budget and a far better fatbike than the Rize because the RizeX only has one battery..
You're talking a Biktrix Duo on a serious discount now? The OP has a budget of $2,500(Canadian).I have a Rize and it's great but the Biktrix Duo is only 45bucks over your budget and a far better fatbike than the Rize because the RizeX only has one battery..
I totally get what your saying, 100% correct even. Not sure I would pick 26x4 tires for commuting. That's a LOT of extra drag/rolling resistance. Just me, but thinking the 27.5 would make more sense. Maybe a 2.3-2.5" width. That should give a pretty decent ride vs. rolling resistance balance.
As far as dual batteries, if I could make my commute easily on one battery, there is little doubt that would be my plan. Toting the extra weight of that second battery around when it's not needed makes little sense here.
Not sure of my druthers regarding mid or hub drive here either. Hub is easier to ride, but the mid has far more power, to the point of overkill. Pretty sure the mid will mean more maintenance as compared to the hub. That would be a factor as well.
I just bought a Rize RX Pro (26x4 and Ultra mid drive), it's no commuter in my mind, but I would not hesitate to buy another Rize product. Nothing wrong with Biktrix either.

Yes sold bike last week, December-March I don't cycle to work. Use bike 9 months a year. I updated the bike when I bought it to a 500Watt motor and a 36Volt-14AH battery. Don't recommend these HOTEBIKEs to anybody, trouble after 6 weeks. Is this what you have?
I'm asking because if you like your current bike, it might be cheaper to replace the battery to high capacity one.
With this model bike, the OP can visit the store in Toronto, & take it for test ride to decide. Since the OP is in Toronto.Amego Infinite
