New 2023 specialized Vado 5.0 IGH

Picked the bike up yesterday, I did a 21 mile round trip,beautiful day here in NE Georgia for a ride,80 degrees, rode in eco 10/35, had to use sport a couple times. The shifting seems to be ok, will take some time to get used to ( I’m going to give it more than one ride). I briefly went on the road to test the speed, I hit 28.2 easily, I’m not normally watching cadence this is the first bike with that feature, but the cadence was comfortable, maybe high 80’s or low 90’s. I changed the crank arms to 160mm…. Loving this bike

Congratulations on the new whip! I've got ~120 miles on my now, and loving every minute. The auto transmission is a dream for commuting. Be sure to adjust your desired cadence as you see fit. I change mine depending on how I am feeling. If I'm just cruising the neighborhood and/or warming up the leg, I am most comfortable in "slow". If I've got somewhere to be "Standard" or "fast" seem to keep the cadence up and the motor most happy. Enjoy the ride!
 
I am just west of Atlanta on the Silver Comet trail. Once I get by medical issues would be happy to meet up to ride a little with my Vado. I am mobile and could meet you in your area or welcome you here

Just noticed yours is the faster red color please be kind to me and my slow off white bike :)

Try taking your next ride in Micro Tune. IMO, it is so much better and tuneable to th amount of pedal assist that you need. I also use half as much battery now than I did using Eco-Sport-Turbo

Hello opimax I’m about 1.5 to 2 hours from the east trailhead, in middle October I will be in Alabama, will be on the trail from Piedmont Alabama to Ceadertown or Rockmart before I turn around, that would be about 75 miles,probably couldn’t do it without a red bike ,sounds good maybe we can meet to ride sometime.
 
Yes, I did use micro tune, a great feature. I rode most of the trail In eco 10/35, on my priority current I use 0 assist for most of this trail with a occasional 1, I figure the Vado is about 4 lbs heavier than the current,which is great considering the upgrades, maybe the wider tires?

What do you have the micro tune set at for each Eco, Sport and Turbo.

Tony, you seem to have found something very interesting and important with your MicroTune experiments!
Any Specialized Turbo e-bike model has its sweet point at which the battery energy use drops dramatically, still keeping the e-bike agile and strong. For instance, such point for my specific model of Vado 5.0 is 40/40% while it is 65/65% for my Vado SL. It took me a very long time of experimenting, while you could nail it down very quickly as your e-bike has the MicroTune and Range indicator in the Mastermind, while I do not have these features on my e-bikes!

I agree with eco default at 35% and I rarely go over 30% on Micro usually staying in 10-20% range.
